Chanoir is Paris

Alberto Vejarano alias CHANOIR, born in Bogota, 1976, lives and works in the streets of Paris. In 1996, he entered the Parisian post-graffiti scene among other artists such as André, Space Invader and Zeus.

Creating his alter ego CHANOIR, his cats started to multiply in the parisian culture, as he invented a systematic metamorphosis of his logotype.

In 2002, he graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he worked under the direction of Jean-Michel Alberola and François Boisrond.

post-graffiti culture

He continues to portray the different mythologies of cartoons in globalized culture, becoming a descendant of free figuration and post-graffiti.

Through the painting of large murals in Barcelona in the early 2000s with his friends El Pez, El Xupet, and his crew, Collectif 1980, he has gained notoriety in the international scene. In 2002, he directed the documentary “Murs libres” about the Barcelona street art scene.

He associates
with major brands

An emblematic artist of his urban generation, Chanoir brings a new lease of life and the major brands have understood this. This is the case with Samsung, Disney France and Ubisoft, whom which Chanoir has worked in collaboration, creating digital artwork, a mural for Disney on the Champs Elysées, and performing in the video clip for the famous video game, Just Dance (2018).

Chanoir is not only a graffiti artist, but also a creator. He's directed several collections in collaboration with the Cacharel brand and redesignd all of the offices of the french powerhouse (2012). He's clawed his way onto Emanuel Ungaro’s perfume bottles (2019), which launched worldwide. In 2021, he collaborated with Audi for the launch of their Q2.

Chanoir is experienced

In 2009, he definitively established his studio in Paris, and presented a poetic installation of interactive graffiti «taguer la lune» and several murals for the exhibition «Né dans la rue - Graffiti» at the Cartier Fondation alongside his 1980 collective . His paintings are presented in galleries and auctioned off at the most prestigious auction houses such as Artcurial and Drouot.

Since 2010, Chanoir and his crew have been painting murals in Wynwood District, showcasing unmissable representations of street art for the Miami community. Fun Fact: one of his murals can be spotted a music video from the famous rock band, the Pixies, filmed in Miami (2014).

In 2015, he performed a Solo Show at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogota (MAC), and showcased his work in many fairs such as SCOPE.

In 2019, he was named «Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres» by the Minister of Culture, Franck Riester.
